I am a rugby-fan, I played forward prop in high school and loved it to the detriment of my grades. After school, I studied accounting and found that I enjoyed how numbers can tell you so much about a person’s life and whether his words match up with his accounts. I practiced as a professional accountant for over 30 years, serving clients in various industries.

Forty-something years ago, I married my incredible wife, an ex-teacher of Afrikaans at high school level, turned pastor and teacher of the Word in a ministry we both enjoy. We have three children and eight wonderful grandchildren who keep life exciting.

Eventually, I faced my own mortality a few times, surviving a few heart attacks, a quadruple bypass, and blood clots. Thanks to a sparky pacemaker, I get to enjoy the privilege of extended life to serve others and make a difference.

As a father, grandfather, accountant, and executor, I’m keenly aware of how the loss (or potential loss) of a family member can impact those around them. This, combined with a fatigued interest in accounting, motivated me to start serving as an executor of deceased estates.

Numbers still say something about your life after you are gone, and I want to make it as positive of an experience as it can be for everyone involved.
